As a Virtual Assistant, I get to work behind the scenes with some fabulous and inspiring business owners, people who are passionate about what they do, but who also recognise they don’t have to do it all alone.
This month's spotlight features the ultra-talented Hazel from Well Designed.

Tell us about your business – what do you do and who do you help?
I'm a designer and brand strategist, and the founder of Well Designed. I help purpose-led founders, particularly in wellness and lifestyle areas, build premium brand identities that connect emotionally and position them confidently in the market. My work blends psychology, strategy and design to help businesses attract the right clients, increase sales and grow with clarity.
What inspired you to start your business?
After more than two decades working as a designer for some huge brands (Vogue, ASOS, Revolution Beauty), I wanted to use my experience in a more meaningful way. I saw so many brilliant founders undervaluing themselves because their branding didn’t reflect the calibre of their work. I started Well Designed to help people show up with confidence, integrity and intention, and to create brands that feel aligned and connect emotionally.
What made you decide to work with a Virtual Assistant?
As my business grew, I realised that trying to do everything myself was holding me back, and stressing me out! I wanted to protect my creative energy and focus on high-level strategy and client work, rather than being pulled into day-to-day admin and operational tasks. Working with a VA felt like the smartest way to create space and support sustainable growth.
What tasks or areas do I support you with?
You support me with a wide range of tasks including organisation, systems, social media and newsletter scheduling. Having someone I trust who understands my business and works proactively has been invaluable.
How has working with a VA benefited you and your business?
The biggest benefit has been mental clarity. Knowing things are handled allows me to stay focused, calm and strategic. It’s helped me work more efficiently, avoid burnout and show up more consistently for my clients. From a business perspective, it’s allowed me to grow without everything feeling heavy or overwhelming.
What would you say to someone thinking about hiring a VA?
Do it sooner than you think you need to! A good VA isn’t just support, they’re a business partner who helps everything run more smoothly. And the wonderful thing about Paula is that she truly cares about her client's results and delivering the best service she possibly can. Her super power is that she 'speaks' systems! She just gets it in a way that I never could and gets tasks done so much faster.
